The Need For Clean Water

Hope Village  joins with other charities around the world observing

World Water Day

771 million people do not have access to safe water.

That is one person out of every ten.

Hope Village needs to purchase a Purification System

The whole community depends on us to have safe water.

But the water we must use still carries bacteria.

We are doing all we can to show them hope.

In honor of #WorldWaterDay, March 22, 2022

we’re going after a solution, right now.

We see the sores on the legs of the children,

we see the malnourished, we see those suffering chronic intestinal challenges.

All because their water source is making them sick.

This is a call to action to all those who want to partner

with Hope Village.

  • 1 in 3 healthcare facilities does not have access to hand hygiene where care is provided. Almost 2 billion people depend on health care facilities without basic water services.

  • Timely hand hygiene prevents up to 50 per cent of avoidable infections acquired during health care delivery, including those affecting the health workforce. (WHO/UNICEF 2021)

  • Over the past five years, half a billion people have gained access to basic hand hygiene facilities – a rate of 300,000 per day. (WHO/UNICEF 2021)

FAQS

Nearly 4 billion people, representing two-thirds of the world’s population, experience severe water scarcity during at least one month of the year.

In a world where water can be scarce, in the Philippines water is plenteous,

but in many areas, unsafe. That is what we are dealing with at Hope Village Lipa City. The  monsoons and storms come through regularly, they flood rivers and low-lying areas contaminating our water with bacteria.

This area is poor and they often have to choose between buying clean water, or using the money for food.  We ask you to consider helping us bring clean water to the area. The Bible says: I f anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.
